Wedding Reception with 24 Hours Notice

It was Friday June 3 at 5:30, I was getting ready to host a wedding reception at the Vox Theatre. The reception was to start at 6:30 so we were putting the finishing touches on things (aka running around like crazy people). My phone rang - not unusual - so I answered. The voice on the other end of the line was a little panicked and said something along the line daughter was to have her wedding reception at the Arts Incubator downtown and we just received a call that we were not going to be able to have it there. Are you available tomorrow to host her reception? My response was as calm as it could be under the circumstances. Yes, we are available. The ball started rolling from there.

In 24 hours, we were able to get everything turned around from our Friday wedding, schedule the security and cleaning, organize the rentals and our equipment and then turn the space around again for a reception on Sunday. I was happy we were able to help out and the it turned out to be a wonderful event.

I think the bride's family was pleased. This is what they posted on the Wedding Channel
"My daughters wedding was this past week end June4th. The Vox went out of their way to make it a most incredibile event.Nowhere in town could anyone find anyone like Nicole. The building is so cool, with the high ceilings,a fan to die for, and a lovely deck and yard to the side..incredible! I more than highly recomend this venue. We had 250 guests who fell in love with The Vox, and so did I. This venue is a true jewel..check it out, you will not be sorry."

We had a few more calls that day about the closing of the Arts Incubator and even more since, but none will have the turn-around time of this spectacular reception.

A big THANK YOU to Events by Annie, Accent Special Event Rental and Cupini's Catering for all the hard work in making lemonade out of lemons for Katie and Mike!
